MINIS
AGE: 6 and 7 year-olds. (First year 5-year-olds play T-Ball; Second year 5-year-olds who played one season of T-Ball will be allowed to play Minis.)
DESCRIPTION: Players use a batting Tee and coach pitching is introduced for those players who can hit a pitched ball. Basic skills are taught and reinforced. Kids generally play multiple positions. Scores are not officially recorded. Please note: this is not a "drop-off league"; parents are required to stay throughout practices and games.
FIELDS: Elementary schools / Dorset Park / Upper Farrell / JC Park
GAMES/PRACTICES: Mon/Thurs. Times for April are 5:30-7 p.m. Games end by 7:30 p.m.
MINORS
AGE: 8, 9 and 10-year-olds.
DESCRIPTION: Player/coach-pitch travel league which prepare players for the more competitive Majors the following year. Skill level increases and strategy is now being introduced. Focus is on skill development.
FIELDS: JC Park / FHTMS / other town parks. Home games are at JC Park.
GAMES/PRACTICES: Tues/Thurs/Sun. Weekday times for Aptil are 5:30-7p.m.; Sunday times vary. Note that away games (against local towns) require travel.
MAJORS
AGE: 11 and 12-year-olds.]
DESCRIPTION: Player-pitch travel league. Play is faster and pitching becomes more consistent and accurate. Strategy becomes an integral part of the game.
FIELDS: JC Park / FHTMS / other town parks. Home games are at JC Park.
GAMES/PRACTICES: Tues/Thurs/Sun. Weekday times for Aptil are 5:30-7p.m.; Sunday times vary. Note that away games (against local towns) require travel.
SOFTBALL CLINIC: TBD. Players will be notified and are encouraged to attend!
